Chapter 3
Adding vehicles — one at a time, and in bulk
Putting vehicles into your fleet, the setting a private vehicle needs before anyone can subscribe to it, and what a bulk upload does and does not finish.
Step 1
Open Vehicle onboarding. An Owner or a Manager can do this, and your organisation has to be approved first.
Step 2
Add a vehicle on its own, or upload a spreadsheet and add many at once.
A fleet runs public transport and private vehicles — Mode A and Mode B. On-demand driving, Mode C, is not something a fleet does at all; that is an arrangement between an individual driver and MageRide.
Step 3
A Mode A vehicle — a bus on a route — has nothing to price. Public transport is free.
Step 4
A Mode B vehicle needs a service payment setting: Free or Paid. A staff bus or an office van is usually Free. A Paid vehicle also needs a default monthly fare.
You can only choose Paid once your bank and payout profile is Verified. That is chapter 2.
Step 5
To add many vehicles at once, upload the spreadsheet and let it validate. Rows with problems are flagged rather than silently dropped.
Step 6
Download the error report. It names the row and what is wrong with it, so you fix and re-upload only the rows that failed.
Step 7
Vehicles added in bulk arrive with their documents still outstanding. Documents are per vehicle, and they are chapter 4.
Step 8
Every vehicle then goes through the same approval as any other vehicle on MageRide and shows Pending, Approved or Rejected. You can also deactivate or remove one, which takes it off the fleet and passenger maps immediately.
