Getting approved

Step 1

Submitting the fourth step opens a review screen with four lines on it — vehicle details, insurance, revenue licence, and the front and back photographs. Each is either Verified or Pending.

Step 2

A line is Verified when the app read what it needed: an expiry date off the insurance, a number and expiry off the revenue licence, a number plate matching the registration you typed, and the type and registration you entered yourself.

Step 3

If all four come back Verified, the vehicle is approved automatically with nobody at MageRide involved. That is the ordinary outcome of a clean set of photographs.

Step 4

A line goes Pending for one of three reasons: the app was not confident of what it read, you typed the value in yourself, or the plate in your photographs did not match the registration number.

Pending is about one step, not the whole application. The other three stay Verified and you do not photograph them again.

Step 5

A Pending line goes to a verification officer, who either confirms what is there or corrects it and confirms that. The vehicle is not approved until none are left pending.

Step 6

You are told the outcome by notification and in the app. If something is rejected you are given the reason and a way to photograph it again.

Step 7

While you wait you keep the app. A bus or a private vehicle assigned to you by a fleet can be driven today. What you cannot do is take this particular vehicle online: only an Approved vehicle can be selected to go live.
