Getting paid

Step 1

A passenger chooses how to pay when they book, and can change it at the end. What changes for you is not the amount but where the money lands.

Step 2

Cash is the simplest and the most common. The passenger hands you the fare, you tap End, and it is done. That money is yours immediately — it never goes near MageRide, so there is nothing to wait for and nothing to be paid out.

MageRide takes no commission from it and never sees it. The only thing the platform charges you is the daily fee, out of your wallet.

Step 3

The second way is your own QR code — your own bank’s code, registered with MageRide and shown to the passenger to scan. That payment goes bank to bank, straight into your account, and MageRide never handles it either.

Step 4

Because it goes bank to bank, MageRide is never told it arrived. So the trip is closed by the two of you saying so: the passenger taps “I’ve paid”, you get a “QR payment received?” prompt, and you tap Confirm.

You can confirm on your own if the passenger has already left. If they say they paid and you do not confirm, the app reminds you, and an unresolved case goes to support and then to MageRide’s finance team. No money is moved either way while that happens, because MageRide is not holding any.

Step 5

Your earning is posted once the payment is settled rather than the moment you tap End. That is why a finished trip can show its money a little afterwards.

Step 6

The third way is a passenger paying from their own MageRide balance. That one does pass through MageRide: it moves from their balance to your wallet immediately, and it sits in your wallet until it is paid out to your bank.

Step 7

Paying that out needs your bank details on file — bank, branch, account number and the name on the account, with a bank statement or the first page of your passbook, and your bank app’s QR image. Someone at MageRide checks it, and any edit sends it back to be checked again.

That same screen is where your QR code comes from, so filling it in is also what makes the second way of being paid possible. Until it is approved your balance simply builds up — it is held for you and never lost — but nothing leaves.

Step 8

Earnings shows today, this week and this month: what you took in fares, what the daily fee cost you, and the difference. Every trip is listed underneath it with its own fare.
