The daily platform fee

Step 1

You keep every rupee of every fare. MageRide takes no commission and no cut of any trip, on any vehicle, in any mode. This is the same model Namma Yatri built in India, and it is the whole basis of the platform.

Step 2

The first trip of the day is always free. Nothing is taken from your wallet for it.

Step 3

When you accept your second trip of the day, one flat fee is taken from your wallet — once, for the whole day, however many trips follow it.

Because the deduction lands at the second trip, it can look like a per-trip charge exactly once. It is not. There is no per-trip fee anywhere on MageRide.

Step 4

What that flat fee is depends on what you drive. Each vehicle type has its own rate, and the table on this page is the full set. The app always shows the rate for the vehicle you currently have live.

Step 5

Public transport buses pay nothing at all, and private transport vehicles are billed monthly to their owner rather than daily to their driver. The daily fee is a standby on-demand arrangement only.

Step 6

On a day you never go online, you are charged nothing. There is no monthly minimum, no subscription that runs whether you drive or not, and no charge for a day you spend off the road.

If you keep more than one vehicle, only one is live at a time and you pay that vehicle’s rate. You are never charged twice for the same vehicle on the same day.

Step 7

If your wallet cannot cover the fee when your second trip comes up, that request is missed rather than refused, and you are told that is why. You are also warned when you accept the first trip if you do not have enough for the second.

Step 8

Fee history shows every deduction — the date, the vehicle, the amount, and how many trips you did that day — beside your top-ups and transfers. If a fee was taken in error, chapter 18 is how you ask for it back.
