Install MageRide and sign in

Step 1

Open MageRide for the first time and three short slides introduce what it does. Under them is the language chooser — three boxes stacked one per row, Sinhala at the top, then Tamil, then English, with Sinhala already selected. Tap the one you read, then Get Started at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2

Enter your mobile number. The field already carries +94, so you type the nine digits after it. Tap Continue and MageRide sends a six-digit code by text message.

Step 3

Type the code into the six boxes. Most Android phones fill it in for you. If it does not arrive, the Resend link becomes tappable after sixty seconds — you can ask for at most five codes in an hour.

A wrong code turns the boxes red and says so. Nothing is lost; type it again.

Step 4

Add your name, and a photo if you want one. This screen is also where you say whether MageRide may send you notifications. Tap Save and continue.

Step 5

MageRide then asks to use your location and explains why before your phone’s own permission box appears. Chapter 2 goes through that screen properly.

Step 6

The live map opens, centred on where you are. That is the home screen, and everything else in this guide starts from it.
